No one understands the needs of metal customers better than the Mckinnon family.

In 1988 Ian McKinnon, along with his wife Denyse, helped pioneer the concept of selling metal in small quantities by opening a modest 3,000 sq. ft. store in Concord, Ontario. The idea of being a single source metal distributor was considered revolutionary at the time but Ian and Denyse persevered.

After an initial trial and error period their efforts were rewarded when the new idea eventually gained wide acceptance with business of all kinds. Once they tried it businesses liked the convenience sourcing their metal needs from one location.

Today, the business remains family owned and operated by daughter Cindy Lawson. Our store has grown to well over 30,000 sq. ft.

McKinnon Metals continues to stay on the forefront of the metal distribution industry by developing new and better ways to provide products and service to their customers.

Keeping with the tradition established by the first McKinnon Metals store in 1988, current-owner Cindy Lawson continues to set the bar far above the level of their competition. Even today there are hard to find metal items that only McKinnon Metals can source and tough delivery deadlines that only McKinnon Metals can meet.
